On the occasion of a gala event celebrating the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster’s (CML) 10th anniversary, Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Étienne Schneider announced plans to simplify maritime-related procedures to render Luxembourg more attractive to shipowners and shipping investors.

Most notably, vessel and mortgage registration functions will be consolidated within the Luxembourg Commissariat aux Affaires Maritime (CAM) and opening hours adjusted to accommodate closings in different time zones. This administrative simplification will create important efficiency gains for shipowners. The announcement was well-received by over 150 attendees representing the Luxembourg maritime community

Commemorating the occasion, Maritime Cluster Chairman Fabrice Maire stated “In its 10 years of existence, the CML has emerged as the privileged representative body of Luxembourg’s “Blue Economy”. Membership has increased from the 16 founding members to over 60 members representing the various maritime-related professions active today in the Luxembourg maritime sector.”

The Gala event held at the Parc Hotel Alvisse raised funds for the Kriibskrank Kanner Foundation which provides support to children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
